Questions and answers about:
Friends

Question
At school I am the odd one out . All my friends have black skin and black hair. I have white skin and blonde hair. This makes me feel lonely and upset.

Answer
Sometimes being different from your friends can feel upsetting, but really, the most important part of friendships has very little to do with the way you look.
If you are having trouble making friends because you feel so different try joining a sporting club or perhaps leaning music in a group Look for activities like arts/crafts, conservation or volunteer type of clubs where you and the others there, will have that common interest. If you are old enough, you could try to get an after-school/weekends kind of job where you can earn your own money, give you work experience as well as another interest and more people to meet. Try talking to people, smiling and “Hi’ is a good way to begin a conversation that may even end up as a great friendship.

Question
Is it okay to have a boyfriend at ten?

Answer
It is OK to be just friend, but Probably best to wait until you get to high school to think about having a boyfriend when you have had time to have lots of friends and know a little better what you want in a partner.
Some people are mature enough to have a serious relationship earlier but some are still quite immature even into their late twenties. Anytime you feel it is “right” is generally the right time, though.
